With the long-awaited switch to the Unity engine, full women’s football integration, a refreshed UI, and new licensing deals, FM26 aims to push the franchise forward. Here is what players can expect when the game launches on 4 November 2025 (most platforms) and 4 December 2025 for Nintendo Switch Touch.
New Features
Unity Engine & Matchday Immersion
FM26 marks the series’ transition to the Unity engine. This change brings improved visuals, smoother animations, upgraded lighting, and more lifelike stadium atmospheres. On-pitch details have been enhanced through motion capture, especially in the women’s game, delivering more believable movement and matchday animations. Crowd reactions, stadium interiors and environmental effects have all been polished.
Women’s Football Fully Integrated
For the first time in FM’s history, women’s leagues are not just optional add-ons, they are built into the core game world. FM26 debuts 14 women’s leagues across 11 nations, with licensed clubs, players, competitions, and realistic differences in contracts, transfers, finances, and injuries. Attributes are rated on the same 20-point scale, but player ratings are relative to the women’s game context.
Reimagined User Interface (UI)
Navigation, clarity, and information access have been overhauled. The UI in FM26 uses a new “Tile and Card” system designed for efficiency, predictability, and familiarity. The redesign aims to cut down on needless clicks, improve legibility, and help both veterans and newcomers find what they need more quickly—tactics screens, scouting reports, squad conversations, and more.
Licensed Premier League & Enhanced Authenticity
FM26 brings official Premier League branding: kits, badges, club photos, and the trophy itself are fully licensed. Combined with better matchday presentation, greater match realism, and upgraded animations, this feature raises immersion for fans eager to manage Premier League clubs.
Save Compatibility & Platform Reach
If you have invested time in FM23 or FM24, you will be able to carry those saves into FM26 on supported platforms. FM26 will launch on Windows, macOS, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Mobile via Netflix, and Nintendo Switch (Touch). FM26 Mobile will be the only edition not yet built in Unity.
