In FC 26 Online Seasons, you compete against other players worldwide in a divisional format. Win matches to earn points, climb through the divisions, and aim to secure division titles. The mode also features Cup Matches, knockout-style tournaments where you can battle for exclusive trophies and bragging rights.
What is FC 26 Season Mode?
FC 26 Seasons is an online divisional game mode where you use your favourite club to face other players within your division. Each season runs across 10 matches. Your goal is to collect enough points to avoid relegation, earn promotion to higher divisions, or win the division title.
As you move up, the opponents get tougher and promotion requirements become stricter. Seasons is designed to simulate real competition, rewarding consistency and skill as you progress toward Division 1.
How to Play FC 26 Seasons
Online Seasons can be found in FC 26 Home > SEASONS from the main menu. Once inside, you will see several options:
Play Match
Jump into an online match. Under this option, you can:
- Search – Find an opponent with a similar division and team star level.
- Change Team & Kit – Select your club and kits before each game.
- Matchmaking Settings – Refine matchmaking preferences:
- Controls – “Any” matches anyone; “Manual” finds players using manual controls.
- Club Quality Matching – Restrictive matching pairs you against teams of equal strength.
- Club Type – Choose to face only Clubs, only International teams, or Any.
- Guests – Choose whether to allow/require guests in your matches.
- Controller Settings – Adjust controller preferences.
- Team Management – Edit lineups, formations, tactics, roles, and instructions.

Divisions
Online Seasons is split into 10 divisions. You begin in Division 10 and climb by earning points. Wins are worth 3 points, draws 1, and losses 0. Each division has unique thresholds for avoiding relegation, securing promotion, and winning the title.

Cup Match
Cup Match is a knockout-style tournament within Seasons mode. Qualify and compete to win exclusive trophies. Each tournament starts at the Round of 16 and follows a single-elimination format:

- Semi-Finals

There are four distinct Cups. Aside from the EA Shield, Cups must be unlocked by reaching higher divisions:

How many games are in one season?
Each season in FC 26 Online Seasons consists of 10 matches. You must earn enough points within these games to avoid relegation, secure promotion, or win the division title.
What happens if I do not complete all 10 matches?
If you do not play all your matches, your final points tally will still determine whether you get promoted, relegated, or remain in the same division.
Can I use international teams in Online Seasons?
Yes. You can choose either club or international teams, and matchmaking can be adjusted to match your preference under Club Type in settings.
Do I earn rewards in Seasons mode?
Unlike Ultimate Team, Online Seasons does not grant FUT packs or coins. Your rewards are progression-based — division titles, promotions, and access to Cup Matches.
What are Cup Matches in Seasons?
Cup Matches are knockout tournaments within Online Seasons. They unlock as you reach higher divisions and offer additional competition alongside your league campaign.
Is matchmaking skill-based?
Yes. Seasons matchmaking takes into account your division and the star rating of your chosen team to ensure balanced matches.
Can I play Online Seasons with a friend?
Yes. You can add a guest locally on your console/PC to play 2v2 in Online Seasons matches.
Do you know how to get reserve players to show up on the online season line up? I just got and I can’t play with the squad I want. Specifically, I want to use Musiala in the German national team line up when I play online seasons. He doesnt even show up on the reserve list. Do you know why or how to fix?

I beg u ea, finally update online seasons mode. It has become extremely monotone and repetitive. Use better competition formats. Also fix coöp so that if I wanna play , with a friend , he doesn’t have to go home but that we can play with persons in the same room. And also clubs.
